⚡| Infrastructure Change
Heya everyone, and welcome back to patch v0.8 of the Infrastructure changes. I would like to discuss a few things with you to clarify some points and possibly estimate any remaining downtime. If you're wondering why we don't just try to rush the servers, please refer back to patch v0.7
🛜| The First Steps
Yes, we did it! As shown in the screenshot to the right of this text, the first parts of the IPv4 network are back online. We can now truly make significant progress towards getting the servers back online. Unfortunately, the IPv4 network is still unstable, and some connections suddenly drop for no apparent reason.
Not only is the network still unstable, but the internal connections between servers are also unstable. We are working hard to get the IPv4 network fully operational. But yes, the first major steps have been taken!
💸| Server Compensation
As of the time this message is posted, 12/06/24, the network has been offline for a total of 1 week and 1 day. This means the current compensation will be at least 1 week and 2 days. However, this may still increase. When and how the compensation will be provided is still unclear because the network is not yet online. Once the network is back online, more information will be made available.
🛠️| We’re Working on It!
Please remember that we are doing our utmost to get the network back online, and measures have been and are still being taken for those who urgently need their server now. It is still possible to request a temporary server for free to mitigate the impact of the downtime.
Also, remember that Tobias is the developer behind this system. The support team does not have access to the codes of this system and therefore cannot assist with developing and bringing this new Anti-DDoS system online. The support team has the same information about the new system as what is posted in these patch notes. Therefore, asking when the servers will be back online is not helpful.
❓| Frequently Asked Questions:
I will address some of the most frequently asked questions below. Hopefully, this answers all your concerns, but feel free to ask if you have more questions!
Q: Do I need to pay while the server is not working?
A: NOOOO! That would be unreasonable. You will receive at least the number of days of downtime plus one extra day for free. We are also discussing a higher compensation internally.
Q: Why is my server not working?
A: By now, it should be clear that this is due to the network upgrade.
Q: I no longer see the servers on the status page?
A: Correct, as long as the servers are offline, they will not be visible on the status page. Systems that are functioning will still be visible on the status page.
Q: Will my servers be migrated?
A: This depends on what you mean exactly. We are changing internet providers, but your server itself will remain on the same physical node. The specifications will remain unchanged.
⚠️!! ATTENTION TO YOUR PAYMENTS !!⚠️
Your payment might expire during this downtime period. Please contact MennoJob G. privately as soon as possible. Your server will need to be extended early to prevent loss of your files. This will be done without any additional costs.
